(LOL) People who become rather "activist" and over praising about the single life are usually doing it more as a defense mechanism (in my opinion), to avoid the embarassment that nobody actually wants them. They try to make it out to be a case of "I don't need anybody else". Been single a lot in my life, and I hate it more than I love the freedom aspects of it. I'd love to hear these songs, to see if they really have freedom in them or melancholy loneliness. Nick Drake is an excellent one to listen to for the mixture of both melancholy and peace that a lone life brings.
Amazingly, I went to high school with this girl! She was my first "almost" girlfriend, and her name is Lynette. Of course, she's a grandmother now. I asked her about this photo, and she said she was just practicing guitar in a city park, and someone asked her if they could snap her picture. She was never a model. She did tell me that she could actually play that guitar....
